Obituary for Edith Margaret Harris
Edith Margaret Harris was born Feb. 2, 1922 and passed away at her home of 48 years here in Vacaville on Aug. 3, 2012. Margaret leaves behind her daughter, Jeanne Davis (Randy); son, James Harris, and sister, Jenny Stout. She was grandmother to Matthew Davis, Steven Schlick-Harris, Jennifer Schultz, Kimberly Lambert (Mike), Steven Gower (Sharon), and Christie Gower. She was great grandmother to Jayden and Vanessa Schultz, Michaela and Kennedy Lambert and Kellen and Brennen Gower. Margaret was preceded in death by the love of her life, Healthy (Herbert) Harris and daughter, Sherry Aalborg. Margaret retired as a Captain USAF after serving as a surgical nurse and then a flight nurse during the Korea conflict. After moving to Vacaville for a second time in 1964 she worked as a charge nurse at what was then Intercommunity Hospital in Fairfield until retiring in the late 1980's. She was an active member of Orchard Avenue Baptist Church for many years. Margaret was loved by many and liked by all. She will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be Thursday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel.
