Obituary for Eddith G. Moehr
She died on March 14, 2010, shortly after celebrating her 106th birthday. Hers was a life well lived and her death was a gentle one. Born in Williamsport, Ohio, on February 17, 1904, she was the oldest of four children. She met and married Philip Moehr in 1924. They raised three children: Robert Moehr; Doris Beresford; and Phyllis Garman. In 1951 they packed up a brand new Ford and headed west. Initially, they settled in Vallejo, Calif. Always the pioneers, they were among the first to buy a house in Leisure Town in Vacaville, one of the first senior communities in Northern California. Fondly known as Mr. and Mrs. CPR of Vacaville, they became instructors at 72 and taught for another 15 years. They stopped counting when they certified their 10,000th student. Eddith lived her life with grace and grit. Her presence has left the world a better place. She leaves behind her three children, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held on March 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville, Calif., ph (707) 448-6546. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Hospice, 3400 Data Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670.
