Dwight John Blasy, known affectionately as "Whitey" to his friends and family, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the age of 82, in Fairfield, California after a long battle with health conditions.
Born on July 1, 1943, in Richardton, North Dakota, Dwight's zest for life and his adventurous spirit were evident from an early age. Dwight's journey through life was as vibrant and dynamic as the roaring engines of the Harley motorcycles he so loved to ride. His passion for the open road was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends. As a truck driver, Dwight traversed the highways of America, witnessing its grandeur firsthand and meeting people from all walks of life.
Those who knew Dwight will remember him as a man of adventure, loyalty, and passion. He and the love of his life, Virginia M. Hidalgo, loved traveling which took them to many places, but it was the journey itself that they cherished most. The freedom of the road, the wind in their faces, and the sense of adventure that came with every ride were the essence of their spirits. Dwight's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will forever ride on in the memories he created with each and every person he met.
Dwight's legacy is carried on by his loving family, who were the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by children, Melinda Blasy of Galt, California, Mary Blasy of Huntington, New York, and Sean (Audra Vaughn) Blasy of Suisun City, California; grandchildren, Brandon Morgan of Huntington, New York, and Sean Dwight Blasy, Jr. of Suisun City, California; step-children, Jody (Michelle) Phillips of Placerville, California, Chris Phillips of Elk Grove, California and Missy Hardwick of Redding, California; brother, Allen (Debbie) Blasy of Bird City, Minnesota; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of beloved friends. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 28 years, Virginia M. Hidalgo; parents, Anna L. Schmidt and Frank C. Blasy; sister Marlene (Dick) Pazen; granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Blasy; and his marriages to the late Pam Allred and the late Phyllis Eby; step-daughter, Kimberly Hardwick-Lippincott.
Dwight's family takes comfort in knowing that his journey continues in a place where the roads are endless, and the rides are eternal. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Dwight "Whitey" John Blasy's life was a ride well-traveled, and he will be deeply missed by all.
