Douglas Price Walker Sr. (“P-pa”)

Douglas Price Walker Sr., lovingly known as “P-pa,” passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on July 8, 1965, in Vallejo, California, Doug built a life anchored in devotion, generosity, and an unwavering love for his family.
Doug proudly worked for Recology Vallejo for 30 years before retiring, forming lifelong friendships, and earning the respect of everyone he worked alongside. But his greatest passion—his true purpose—truly the love of his life—was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose quiet strength and gentle spirit made him the heart of his home.
Doug is preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Walker. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Nancy; his daughter Chelsea and son-in-law Tony Baxley; his son Douglas Walker Jr. and daughter-in-law Alexa; and his cherished grandchildren—Reed and Emme Baxley, and Price and Penny Walker—who brought endless joy and laughter to his life. He also leaves behind his sister, Wendy Payne; his mother-in-law, Margaret Cole; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends— all who loved him deeply.
Known as a gentle giant with a huge heart, Doug was a friend to anyone in need. He rescued kittens, adored animals, and found peace and happiness in the Russian River and Maui, places that held a special warmth for him and his family. His kindness, humor, and steady presence touched countless lives, and the hole left by his passing is felt by all who were blessed to know him.
Doug’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, humor, and compassion—which will live on in the family he treasured. Doug’s beautiful smile truly lit up every room he entered; and his hugs could soothe any problem.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5th at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1791 Marshall Road, Vacaville, CA.
A reception will follow at the Veteran’s Memorial Building, 549 Merchant Street, Vacaville, CA.
