Obituary for Dottie Dukes
Dec. 12, 1942 - July 16, 2018 Vacaville Dorothy "Dottie" Dukes, 75, saw Jesus face-to-face on July 16. Faithful to her beloved God, family, and friends until the end. Dottie was born to the late Raymond and Dorothy Matthews, on Dec. 12, 1942. Raised in San Francisco, in her own words she is the "original San Francisco fog flower". Dottie grew up on Shotwell Street in the Mission District. Here life would forge within her a love and acceptance of all people. Dottie was blessed with four children, Ron, Phillip, Jason, and Laura. Through the years she never lost sight of what was true, and fervently prayed all four children into the house of God. She loved her children so well they each felt they were her favorite. Today her legacy continues in the next generation through her grandchildren, Taelor, Greta, Emma, Billy, and Clayton Hausler, along with Aries, Khalil, Zyanne, and Noah Gresham, as well as Sheila Lee Fry. Dottie, or "Dottie Dangerous", as some called her, was known for her loving spirit, acceptance of everyone, and her faith in God to heal and restore brokenness. Dot has a long resume of people she has prayed for and declared over whose lives have been restored simply because they encountered her in Starbucks or the WalMart checkout line. Dottie never withheld the love of God from a single soul. Dorothy Rae Dukes ran her race well. Up until her last moment she declared the love and faithfulness of God. She leaves us all with the challenge to go and do likewise. Trust and love God and share that trust and love with others.
