Obituary for Dorothy Jean Sanders

Dorothy Jean Sanders went home to be with “Him” her Lord and Savior on May 28,
2017.
Born on November 27, 1919 in Tracy, Minnesota. Dorothy graduated college and
taught English in 1941.
She met her husband Ernest J. Sanders at a dance and they wed in 1948. Dorothy
worked as a medical secretary until she returned. She and her husband lived in
Bend, Oregon until her husband passed in 2005, and then she moved in with her
son, John and daughter in law in Dixon, California. She loved to read and spend time
with her family. She also enjoyed spending time down at the Dixon Senior Center
where she made lots of friends and took classes on how to paint. She was a great
listener and had great stories of growing up on a farm during the Depression.
Dorothy will be missed by her family and friends but we know we will see her again
in glory. Preceded in death by parents, Lewis and Erva Jones; husband, Ernest J.
Sanders. Dorothy leaves behind her brother, Donald Jones, oldest son Ronald
Sanders, daughter Barbara Skwarkowski and youngest son John Sanders; 4
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Service to be held at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, Dixon, California at 2:00pm on
Friday, June 16, 2017.
