Dorothy Kyte, a long time resident of Mix Canyon, passed away surrounded by her family. She grew up in logging camps in Lassen County and met her husband, Ord Kyte, as a college student. In addition to taking care of her five children, she worked as a florist, landscaper and rancher. She was known for her kindness and was a beloved mother to her family, and to many others that she helped or that lived in her home. She was active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and lived her life in service to others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ord Kyte; two children, and her sister. She leaves to honor her memory three children, Dwayne Kyte of Vacaville, Wes Kyte of Dixon and Karen Murcia of Bellevue, WA. She also leaves six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
