Obituary for Donna Jean Moore
Donna Jean (Wolford) Moore, a long-time Vacaville resident, died peacefully at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville on Monday, July 23 following a short illness. She was 81. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Theral and Arveda Wolford; brother, Wayne Wolford; husband, James Moore; husband, Jerrel Rogers; son-in-law, Raymond Cavagnaro. Donna is survived by her brother, Dean Wolford (Linda Stout) and sister, T. Lynne Rains (Roy); daughters, Jeannie Cavagnaro, Terri Alonso (John), and Mary Lynne Murray (Jay); grandchildren, Julia Cavagnaro, Christine (Earl Kramer), James (Erin) and Jessica Alonso, Jacey Verdicchio (Michael) and Haley Murray; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Maisy and Malachi Kramer and Owen Alonso; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna was born in Payette, Idaho and grew up in Cortez, Colorado. She moved with her husband Jim to Livermore, Calif., in 1953, Pittsburg in 1956 and Vacaville in 1959. She had a strong work ethic and a sharp business mind and began working as a teller in 1967 at Central California Federal Savings and Loan. She retired from US Bank in 1990 as Assistant Vice President. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi, Soroptimists, Rainbow for Girls and Bible study. She was an accomplished homemaker, pianist, and bridge player. She loved music and dancing. During retirement she enjoyed spending time at her Arnold cabin, traveling and RV Club. She lived at Emeritus-Rancho Solano for the past five years. A memorial service to honor Donna's life will be held on Monday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel with a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or your charity of choice.
