Obituary for Donald S. Pursglove
Donald Pursglove passed away on April 25 following a determined struggle with cancer. His sister, Anne, and his brother, Kevin, were at his side.
Donald was born and raised in Vacaville and moved to Sacramento to attend college. Following graduation from Sacramento State University Donald began a long and rewarding career with Fidelity National Title Company where he was the director of the company’s Northwest Audit Team. He was a tough, but fair, examiner at Fidelity where he was affectionately known as “Don the Auditor” or simply “DTA” to his Fidelity colleagues and friends.
Donald was quick to make friends and to bond with him was to have a lasting friendship along life’s journey. He was a hard and dedicated worker but always found time to visit one of his many favorite Sacramento haunts to share a bottle of wine, savor a meal and offer his friends a bit of wisdom and commentary on the political news of the day in his own unique, self-assured style.
In addition to Anne and Kevin, Donald is survived by brothers Bob of Seoul, South Korea and Bill. His parents, Leo and Anne Pursglove, preceded him in death.
A rosary is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Friday Morning at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament near Donald’s home in Sacramento at 9:30 am. A reception will follow afterwards at Morton’s
In lieu of flowers, Donald wanted donations made to one of the following: Hanna Boys Center, ASPCA, Make-A-Wish Northeastern California, or The Stan Foster Memorial Golf Tournament-Judy Fund.
