Obituary for Donald Richard Mowery
Donald Richard Mowery was a resident of Vacaville since 1958 and after a brief illness passed away on Sept. 23. Donald served in the United States Air Force for 12 years, worked civil service at Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet for 35 years, and was a Greeter/Maintenance Supervisor at Vacaville Wal-Mart for seven years. Donald enjoyed woodworking and his grandchildren. Donald was born on May 3, 1938 in Morgan County, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Beulah Mowery, and sister, Dorothy 'Dottie' Springs. He is survived by his wife Donna of 54 years; two sons, Dale of Vacaville, and Darryl (Aimee) of Havre, MT., four grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin, Melissa and Marcheta; brothers, Larry and Terry of Lompoc, CA., Jack of Ohio, Steve of West Virginia, and a sister, Carol Harbaugh also of West Virginia. You are invited to attend a memorial on Wednesday Sept. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. A private burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the following: Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 OR Yolo Hospice, 1909 Galileo Ct #A, Davis, CA 95618.
