Obituary for Dominick Thomas Cerrone
Dominick Thomas Cerrone, 87, fell asleep in death on June 16, 2011 at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville. Dominick lived a long and enjoyable life. We shed tears that you are gone and smile because you have lived. Dominick was born on Dec. 28, 1923, in New York and resided there until he joined the Army Air Force when he was 18 years old. He is a survivor of World War II and retired from Travis Air Force Base as an Air Freight Supervisor , Civil Service, in the late 70's. He was also a long time member of NARFE. He enjoyed many years after retirement traveling with his wife and friends and spent twenty years as a seasonal resident at the 49er Village RV resort in Plymouth. He loved working on projects around the house, a home in which in lived in for 59 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Cerrone. He is survived by his two daughters; Toni and Joey, five grandchildren; Tommy, Carrie, Patrick, Alex and Stephanie, two great grandchildren, Serena and Dominick; sisters, Susan and Lucy and sister- in- law Mary. Dominick will be truly missed by all those close to him and we are truly grateful to all those, including his long time neighbors who really were indispensible in offering help when needed. We are honoring Dominick's wish not to have a memorial service and his burial will be private. A sleep you shall have, a rest you shall have, yet death will be but a pause, until we meet again, I will carry your heart with me.
