Obituary for Dolores Eleanor Hall
Dolores Eleanor Hall, 77 of Vacaville, was born on Jan. 17, 1933 in Chester, Penn. and bravely lost her long battle with cancer on Monday, Aug. 16, at Post Acute Care Fairfield.Dolores roller skated in competitions starting at the age of 16. She won first place in 6 states. She also enjoyed participating in the roller derby. She married James Brabec in 1951 and later married Charles Hall in 1983. Christmas time was one of Grannys favorite holidays. Dolores loved being around her family especially her great grandchildren. She was Granny to everyone who knew her. Granny was always there to lend an ear or helping hand to whomever needed it. Dolores bravely fought cancer for 23 years and she would go to the cancer walks until she could not do them any longer. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.Dolores is survived by her husband of 27 years, Charles R. Hall; daughter and sons-in-law, Gary Spangler of Vacaville, Vicki and Tom Newberry of Vacaville; stepdaughters, Sandra and Carl Strothmann of Newcastle, DE.; sons and daughters-in-law: David and Linda Brabec of Yuba City, Rodney and Cathy Brabec of Esparto, stepsons, Gary and Marie Hall of Middletown, DE., Michael and Brenda Hall of Bear, DE., Stephen Hall of Newcastle, DE.; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and June Godrey of Willow St, PA.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita and Robert Scott of Hollyoak, DE., Marion Bubb of Vacaville, Calif., Florence Belmont of Linwood, PA., and Harry Hall Wilmington DE; 30 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mabel Godfrey; daughter, Charlotte Spangler; brother, Cecil Godfrey Jr of Rehobeth, DE.; sister, Shirley Boyer of Deland, FL Visitation is Monday, Aug. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. A funeral service with John Fatheree and Walter Godfrey officiating will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. at McCune Garden Chapel.
