Obituary for Dixie L. Jones
Dixie Lee Jones passed away Aug. 24 at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville with family by her side.
Dixie was born on Dec. 21, 1938 in Santa Monica, Calif. to Earl and Evelyn Townsend.
She married David Allen Jones of Placerville on June 27, 1959. They had two sons before settling in Dixon in 1968.
Dixie held many positions though out her life. Her most rewarding was that of a mother and homemaker. Her motherhood extended well past the rearing of her two sons. She was a daycare provider for a time and fostered life long relationships with many of the children she cared for. She was also a loving mother to many of her sons' friends that still to this day refer to her as Mom.
She is survived by her two sons Mark (Becky) Jones and Shaun Jones; her mother Marion Townsend; her sisters Bonnie Beiber, Marilyn (Gary) Jones, and Gayle Kelly: her brother Reggie (Dot) Townsend; her Grandchildren Erin Filbert, Katie (Jason) Neverkovec, Heather Filbert, Jerrod Filbert,Brandon (Sheree) Jones, and Courtney Jones; her Great-grand children Aubree, Wyatt, and Annaleese ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held for family and friends on Saturday Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. in Dixon.
