Vacaville, CA
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our Nana, Dena Fennel. Dena passed away due to complications from COPD on the morning of October 6th, surrounded by family.
Dena was born in Medford, Oregon on March 3rd, 1953. She married the love of her life, Dan Fennel on August 24th, 1968. The two would go on to have 3 daughters together. Dena also had a special love for animals that would allow her to raise horses and spend time on the ranch with her dear friend Sally. Dena would ultimately move on to raising and caring for her dogs. Dena was very involved in the AKC Kennel Club, holding multiple board positions throughout the years. Dena was always proud of her own Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and would breed many show dog champions.
Dena is survived by her daughters, Terri and Jim Shirley, Sherri Jones, Danielle and Rob Pippin; grandchildren, Amanda Sardenga and Joey Borchard, Brooke Hernandez and Jeff Swan, Brittani and Colin Supenia, Steven Sardenga and Kristina Bolivar, Anthony Hernandez, Casey and Kayla Holyfield, Chance and Paige Pippin, Chad Pippin, Daniel Murillo and Angelina Jones; great-grandkids, Madison, Maci and Lilly Borchard, Mason and McKenzie Holyfield, Payton Swan and Hadley Supenia; as well as her best friend, Linda Wendorff.
Dena will always be remembered for her passion and drive. She will be dearly missed by the family and friends she impacted throughout her life.
Dena was welcomed into heaven by her husband Dan Fennel; her brothers David Greenwood and baby Daniel; her great grandson Wyatt Supenia and her parents Donna and Chadwick.
There will not be a public service for Dena, instead the family will honor her passing privately. For anyone that would like to show support for Dena, the best way would be donations in her name to the SPCA of Solano County.
