Delia S. Lopez passed away on New Year’s Day, 2024. She was 85 years old. Delia was born in Tepechitlan, Zacatecas, Mexico. Delia spent her youth and early adulthood years in Tepechitlan until she moved to San Jose, CA where she met the love of her life, Frank H. Lopez. They shared 6 sons, 7 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
They later relocated to Solano County and later Glenn County. Delia spent her recent years residing in Vacaville, California and felt blessed to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. She focused her time on her prayers, faith and hobbies and crafts knitting gifts for loved ones and hand making Rosarys that were blessed and shared with fellow Catholics. Delia was known as the best cook in the family. She had a passion for cooking her family’s traditional recipes and enjoyed sharing them with family. Many enjoyed her specialty dishes when she would invite them for a visit and would share beautiful family stories and memories.
Delia was a devout Catholic who practiced her faith in prayers and in action. There was not a person that she would not help if she could or feed if they were hungry. Along with her husband, they opened their home to extended family and friends if they needed shelter or food.
Delia’s faith was the foundation of her life, and she emulated it through prayer, worship, and action. She shared love and compassion as was taught in Scripture. Her faith was so important that she made sure to share it with her children, grandchildren and anyone who encountered her.
Delia will be deeply missed by her loved ones. Her prayers and faith will live on through her children and grandchildren.
