Obituary for Darlene (Doli) S. Pyshora
Born in Clatskanie, Oregon to Iva and Harold Mattson. Darlene was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker. Darlene spent her young life between Clatskanie and Portland, Oregon. Graduating from Franklin High School in Portland. Darlene worked for Hallmark Stores, and as a telephone operator which lead to a position at Travis AFB switchboard. Darlene moved on to become the information and admitting clerk at David Grant Medical Center, retiring on May 1, 1989. Darlene was active with American Legion Auxiliary Rago Christopher Unit #165, serving many positions and will long be remembered for being the poppy chairman, selling poppies and raising funds for our veterans. Married to Bill Pyshora in 1967. Darlene loved her family, friends, garage sales, casino hopping and their property in El Dorado. Darlene especially enjoyed the Christmas holiday season, spending many years decorating the lobby of David Grant Medical Center and Memory Makers Bridal, her daughter’s bridal salon, decorating businesses and friends’ homes. Darlene was a servant and teacher, encouraging all who came into her circle to be better than they were the day before. Darlene is survived by her children, Margo (Bill) Moore, Matt (Jody) Ballard and Michael Pyshora; grandchildren, Will Champion, Kevon Spiers, Mariah and JR Ballard, Lucas Ballard, Hunter Pyshora; great-grandchildren, Taylor Champ and Liam Champion; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Iva and Harold Mattson; her husband, Bill (1992); son, Mark Ballard (2016); sister, Claire Enloe (2015); brother, Lee Mattson (2014); brother-in-law, Robert Pyshora (2014). Darlene and Bill will be laid to rest together at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, California. Celebration of life to follow at the VFS Hall in Vacaville, California. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in form of a Donation to American Legion Auxiliary Rago Christopher #165, 549 Merchant Street, Vacaville, CA 95688, in the name of Darlene Pyshora.
