Obituary for Daniel D. Plummer
Daniel “Danny” Plummer, 78, was born in Bangor, ME. He passed away at David Grand Medical Center in Fairfield, Dec. 10, after a long illness. He served for 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office for 20 years. In 1991, he transferred from Orange County to Sacramento so he could live and retire in Vacaville. He loved working around his yard and maintaining and swimming in his pool. He would often reminisce about the days he lived in Hawaii, Thailand and Subic Bay, Philippines, during his days of service as a Marine. “ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE. SEMPER FI.” He enjoyed watching his “War Movies” over and over. He always watched the news several times daily to keep his family aware of current events. And what he loved most was just being with his family. He loved to hold his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on his lap and talk to them. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Plummer; daughters and sons-in-law, Lindy Hardy, Danette Vargas (Vincent), Debbie Fair (Rex); sons and daughters-in-law, Dan Plummer Jr., Steve Plummer (Dolores); 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and longtime friends, Terry and Norman Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings and son-in-law, Kerry Hardy. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
