Obituary for Dale Raymond McElhaney
Dale McElhaney, 65, passed away on March 18, in Vacaville, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Dale was born on Feb. 3, 1948, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. After attending the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State, Dale moved to California and began a career with Beneficial Finance. In 1981, he embarked upon self-employment as a mortgage broker and real estate broker, including owning Century 21 Creekside Realty and Big Tex Investments. He continued investing in California and Texas real estate for his family and for clients for more than 30 years. Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and beautifying his five acre walnut ranch. He loved golf, gardening, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His love of music was lifelong, including having his own band in High School, playing and marching in the Shriners Band, and sharing his love of all types of music with his family. Dale is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marcie; his son, Ryan; his daughters, Heather Delfs and Jennifer York; his mother, Bettie McElhaney; his brother, Greg McElhaney; his grandchildren, Cobie, Cameron, Cali, Landon and Levi. He was predeceased by his father, Ray McElhaney. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
