Obituary for Christine N. Klinge
Christine Nova Klinge, 89, passed peacefully into the hands of her Lord on Oct. 29. She died of natural causes in Davis, Calif.
Christine was born on Jan. 5, 1921, in McHue, Ark., to William Edgar and Nova Patterson Pasley.
She was raised and attended school in Arkansas until her family moved to Vacaville, Calif. With the breakout of World War II, she began her career in the food service industry at Peter Pan Fountain in Vallejo, Calif., lived for a time in Long Beach, and then returned to Vallejo at long-remembered restaurants Bob's Place, Pat's Restaurant, Renfro's and the Golden Bubble.
In 1955, she married the late Andy Klinge and raised her family in Vallejo. She was one of Vallejo's leading citizens for many years and contributed her time unselfishly as president of the Committee to build Vallejo General Hospital, as president of the Cooper School PTA, as president of the Vallejo High School Marching Band Boosters, and as a long-standing member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Hattie Irene Crawford and Thomas Pasley, both of Dixon, Calif., and William Pasley of Vacaville.
She was loved and will be missed by her sister, Luella Guaydacan of Dixon, Calif.; her children and grandchildren, John, Michelle, Spencer and Garrett Klinge of Oak Park, Calif., and Andrea Klinge of Fresno, Calif.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
During the later years of her life, Christine was blessed with the constant care of her favorite niece and "guardian angel," Faye Leclair of Davis, Calif.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Dixon United Methodist Church, 209 North Jefferson St., Dixon, Calif. The service will be led by Pastor Cathy Morris. There will be a private family burial.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dixon United Methodist Church in her name.
