At age 70, Charlie Parson III passed away peacefully at home on September 5th. After over 20 years with Parkinson’s, this man of God, husband, father, grandfather, veteran and friend of many was surrounded by his much loved and wonderful caregivers when he took his last breath. He died like he wanted in his home, lucid and in no pain.
Born in Memphis TN, he joined the US Navy as a cook in 1976 after a year at Shelby State Community College. After 22 years of Navy service he retired and worked as a cook in Solano County jail facilities. After a fall in 2019 and two years in care facilities, he came home to live 4 more years of his best life with his awesome 24 hour caregivers.
Predeceased by his lovely Vivian, he leaves behind his son Charlie Parson IV, grandchildren Charlie Parson V and Mariah Parson, siblings Barbara and Melvin, nieces and nephews and many life long friends. As an easy going soft-spoken southern man of God, he saw the good in life and in those he met along his life’s journey. Rest with God Charlie.
