Obituary for Charles Johnson Jr.
Charles, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, left us on the morning of June 2, to be with his Lord and Savior. He was very proud to have served 10 years as a Marine Corp. Reservist. Charles dearly loved his family and we will never forget what a true provider and protector he was, never letting anyone go without. Charles met the love of his life in school and on May 21, 1966, they were married. They had just celebrated their 48 year anniversary. Charles had a passion for his work. Known as the best mechanic on the West Coast. Many farmers and agricultural land owners throughout Calif would call on him when their equipment was down. They knew they could count on him to get everything up and running again. 'Al' could fix anything. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Johnson; daughter, Monica (Paul) Hurych; son, Mitch Gregg; sister, Frances Patten; two grandchildren, Billy and Nicole Nelson and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Johnson; his daughter, Ronda Lynn Johnson-Lutte and sister, Irene Rose. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 25 at 1 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Internment to follow.
