Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Goodoff
Charles "Chuck" Goodoff October 8, 1946 - April 21, 2020
Chuck Goodoff of Vacaville, CA passed away after a long illness at the age of 73 on April 21st, 2020 with his loving wife of 54 years, Millie, by his side. Chuck was born in Elkhart, IN and raised in Marcellus, MI where he met his love and future wife, Millie Lockwood. They were married in 1965 and moved with their four young children to Vacaville, CA in 1976.
He is remembered by his wife Millie, their four children - Shane, Morgan, Leigh (Seth) and Christianna (Matt), two beloved granddaughters who knew him as “Grampie” - Rylie Elise and Emalyn Grace, his sister Marla (Glenn) Wyman and extended family and friends.
Chuck loved the outdoors. He and his family spent boundless hours in nature, exploring, camping and fishing, fishing, fishing. They visited many lakes and reservoirs in Northern California over the years, but by far his favorite fishing spot was on a small, private lake near Laramie, WY where his daughter Christi lives. He enjoyed gathering there with his family every summer for outdoor adventures and endless hours relaxing in a boat, catching trout after trout. Chuck found bliss on that lake and was proud to have landed multiple trophy-sized trout. He even managed to set the record one year for reeling in the lake club’s prize tagged fish. He loved sharing that joy with others. One of his favorite traditions was to gift each family member, child or adult, with their first fishing pole. He treasured the time he spent on the water with his children and granddaughters. He also loved watching sports. Among his lifelong favorite teams were the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Etola Goodoff and two of his sisters Sonya (Jack) Parkhurst and Audrey (Louis) Kai.
The family will hold a private celebration of life in Wyoming at a later date.
