Obituary for Charles 'Chuck' Eugene Rhodes
Charles Chuck Eugene Rhodes, a long time resident of Vacaville passed away on Monday May 9 after battling cancer. Chuck was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, the second of six children to Pauline Smith Stiffler.
Chuck served in the Navy and retired from Pacific Bell after 30 years of service in 1993. Chuck was a National Soap Box Derby Champion in 1958 and the Green Tree Club Champion in 1968. He loved golf, pool, cards, pinball, liars dice, cars, long road trips, children, dogs and making other people happy!
He is preceded in death by his mother Pauline Stiffler, foster parents Wilson Mooney and Helen Mohn, 1st wife Linda Gottlieb, his Uncle Levi Smitty and Aunt Lucille Smith, and step-son Ronald Silva.
Chuck is survived by his siblings; James Rhodes, Donald Stiffler, Jack Stiffler (Kelsey), Margaret Stiffler (Joe Flowers) and Dona Stiffler, his long-time friend previous 2nd wife Gloria E. Rhodes, his children; William Rhodes, Arthur Rhodes (Mary), Christopher Rhodes and Diana Garrett (Vincent), his grandchildren; Patricia and Jacqueline Rhodes, Roxanna Guido, David Garcia, Christian Reid, Gabrielle Rhodes, Deana Isaza, Christopher Marzetta, Vincent, Reece and Rainee Garrett, step-children; Steven Silva, Belinda Silva-Attianese (Carmine), David W. Silva (Colette), his step-grandchildren; Cara Cobell (Casey), Teresa Herrera (Daniel), Brandi Hoxie, Tasha Miles (David), Emily Rose Meals, Bryan Silva, Maryann Silva, Kimberly Silva, Ronald Ynez Silva (Yaddy), Christina Silva, Regina Pederson (Randy), Rebecca Largent (Travis), Christopher Silva and Lenna Silva and 19 step-great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.
The family invites friends to attend a visitation at McCune Garden Chapel from 5-8pm on Monday May 16. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 17 at 11am also at McCune Garden Chapel. Services will be officiated by Pastor Bruce Gallaher.
Interment will at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620 at 1:30pm on Tuesday May 17. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Chuck Rhodes to Mission Solano Rescue Mission 740 Travis Blvd, Fairfield, CA 94533, (707) 422-1011, www.missionsolano.org
