Obituary for Charles "Charlie" F. Misuraca

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Misuraca, 95, at his home in

Dixon on Saturday, October 7, 2023. He was a longtime resident and community member. Charlie was

born on October 28, 1927 to Charles and Angie Misuraca, Italian immigrants, in San Francisco. During

the 1930’s his family moved from San Francisco to a farm east of Dixon on Robben Road. He took

extension classes at UC Davis and learned all about the dairy business and that is when they started the

Misuraca Dairy with his father. He ran the successful dairy farm until he retired in 1988.

Charlie went to a one room classroom on Robben Road in his early years and then went to Dixon High

School where he graduated in 1945. While in high school he was the Dixon FFA Chapter President after

they had just gotten their state charter.

In 1949 he met his married his wife, Frances and they had raised 4 daughters. Charles and Frances were

married for 65 years before her death in 2015. When Charlie retired they enjoyed their latter years

traveling around the world and spending time with their family.

Charlie was on the board member of the Dixon Resource Conservation District, and also was on the

board of the Dixon Fire Department, and a past member the Dixon Boat Club as well.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and relished his trips with his friends. Charlie also was a loyal 49er

fan.

He is survived by his sister, Ramona Hill, four daughters, Vicki Ruiz (Al), Carol Stanley, Sandy Bonesteel

(Rick), and Becky Jacobs (Kevin). He had 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

The family wish to express their uttermost appreciation to Trish Achtermeyer, a longtime friend for the

care she provided to him in his latter years.
