Obituary for Catherine Alexandra Teles-Runyon
Catherine age 52 passed away gracefully in her Vacaville home on December 10, 2010 with family and the Lord by her side. Catherine had fought pancreatic cancer for the past year and a half. Born at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia she was raised in San Francisco. She attended Star of the Sea School and San Francisco State. She met her husband and began her banking career in the city in 1981. The family moved to Vacaville in 1989 where she joined Great Western Savings. Catherine enjoyed working in the retail banking world and was a devoted talent developer who struck lasting relationships with co-workers at every level and at each location she managed- Sacramento, Vacaville and lastly in Davis. She worked through the acquisitions by Washington Mutual in 1997 and by Chase in 2008 and was an intuitively skilled and valued company resource. Catherine loved to read and journal, was a food lover and avid traveler who made visits to Europe, Africa, North and South America and most recently a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. She loved to plan family trips where she was masterfully efficient with transportation logistics while sharing with her children the diverse arts, cuisines and cultures that each had to offer. She enjoyed finding good bargains and shared her savvy skills willingly. She truly made a home for her family as well, consistently teaching core values while making it fun. She actively supported and enjoyed all of her childrens ice skating interests. Her love for the holidays and decorating was as remarkable as her abilities to communicate with each cat and dog she owned and dearly loved. Catherine was preceded in death by her father Manuel Teles and is survived by her mother Ruth of Vacaville, her husband Jim of 25 years and their three children Sarah, Kent and Adam. Family and her many treasured friends may visit Thursday December 16th between 5pm and 8pm, as well as attend a Rosary service at 7pm at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville and are invited to attend a funeral Mass Friday December 17th at St. Marys Catholic Church in Vacaville. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
