Obituary for Catalina Valadez
Catalina Valadez, 90, of Vacaville, passed away on March 29, in Citrus Heights at home with her family.
Catalina was born on April 22, 1919, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
She lived a full life and worked at Basic Foods for many years in addition to being a homemaker. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts pack 263 and was very involved in several organizations at St. Mary's Church such as The Legion of Mary and the Eagle Auxiliary, Telecare and the Food Locker.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors and camping.
Catalina is survived by her son, Robert Currillo of Corona and his five children and 13 grandchildren; daughter, Julie Estrada of Citrus Heights and her four children, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; son, Leo Valadez Jr. of Vacaville and his two children and five grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and the matriarch of our family.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday April 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel with the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, April 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
