Carol Marie Howisey, of Fairfield, CA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19,
2024.
Carol, born in Alameda, CA on July 12, 1947, grew up in Vallejo, CA. It was there she met the
love of her life, Robert “Bob” Howisey, while he was serving in the US Air Force. The two were
married on July 1, 1965, and experienced a lot of life in their 59 years of marriage, including the
birth of their two sons, Steven (1966) and Timothy (1970). Bob and Carol loved spending time
together, making trips to Disneyland, by themselves or with their grandkids, and collecting all
the Disney memorabilia that a family could need.
While Bob served in the Air Force and later as a machinist, Carol kept herself busy raising their
two boys and working at Holy Spirit Parish as the CCD Coordinator’s Assistant, before retiring
as an office secretary for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fairfield. It was from
these places that Bob would often pick Carol up to sneak in a lunch date during their work
days. He never missed an opportunity to let her know she was always “the one”.
Her faith was evident in the work she chose to pursue, and those closest to Carol would
describe her as spunky, generous, loving, organized and patriotic.
Her zest for life was often expressed in her colorful hair (often blue, purple, or pink) and she
was never without a fresh manicure!
If she wasn’t at home crocheting, reading, doing puzzles, or watching the San Francisco
Giants, you could find her every Friday morning at Starbucks for coffee dates with Bob and
friends Sharon, Cindy, Mary Lou, Kathy, Joan, Stephanie and Joe.
Her feisty personality leaves her friends and family with countless stories that would no doubt
lead to a smile on your face and a chuckle in your soul.
Carol is preceded in death by her father Albion Valance, mother Eleanor Delacy, and son
Timothy Howisey.
And while Carol has found eternal peace and rest for her soul, her loss is felt here greatly by
her loving husband, Robert Howisey, her son Steven Howisey (Megan), her grandchildren Sean
Howisey (Kaitlyn), Sydney Morgado (Nicholas), Alexandra Masis (Jose), Danielle Lobao, her
Great grandchildren Walker Howisey and Kennedy Masis, and her “sister” Sharon DaSilva
(Tony).
Visitation services will be held at McCune Garden Chapel on Sunday September 8, 2024 from
2pm-5pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Monday,
September 9, 2024 at 10:30am, with burial to follow at the Sacramento Valley National
Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
In remembrance of Carol’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the
VFW (Veterans of Foreign War).
