Obituary for Carmen Mary Moreno
Carmen passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 5th. Carmen was born In Vacaville where she resided for 81 years. Carmen attended Vacaville High School and during her years there, she was MVP of the basketball team, a majorette and later became the top bowler in the women's division. Carmen married her beloved husband Joe in 1952 and has since enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Carmen was the owner and manager of the old Monte Vista Motel for many years. Carmen loved shopping and cleaning, always keeping her home immaculate. Carmen also loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips were to Spain to visit her family, Santa Cruz with her grandchildren, Hawaii, Donner Lake and her frequent trips to Reno with her late mother Annie. Part of a tight knit family, Carmen loved spending her weekends helping her son Kevin at his restaurant, Wren's Café. Carmen was the cashier where she worked along side her son, husband and grandsons. Carmen's nature was kind, sweet, sensitive and caring. She had a softness about her that was second to none. Carmen was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, and friend. Her love for all was bountiful and endless. Carmen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe Moreno, Son Kevin Moreno (Georgia,) half brother Walter Wren (Shirley,) Grandchildren Carlie, Matt and Nathan Moreno. Great granddaughter Taytum Moreno, Daughter in Law Diane Moreno- Bouvia, and many nieces and nephews. All preside in Vacaville. Carmen was preceded in death by her loving son Keith J. Moreno.
