Obituary for Carl Raymond Jones
Carl Raymond Jones Resident of Vacaville Aug 12, 1940 – Mar 21, 2021 Carl Raymond Jones passed away peacefully on Sunday surrounded by his family. He touched many lives with his caring spirit and positive outlook on life. Carl was born in McDowell West Virginia and graduated from Princeton high school. Carl joined the U.S. Army after high school and served as a proud infantryman for twenty years. Carl served in the famed First Cavalry division in the Republic of South Korea as well as the Second Infantry division. Perhaps his most notable assignment was with the Army’s famous Berlin Brigade in 1961, where he was on the front lines during the Cold War while the Berlin Wall was being erected. It was during his tour in Berlin, Germany that he met and is survived by his loving wife Edith. He is also survived by his two sons Frank Jones of Lake Worth, Florida, Dennis Jones of San Diego, California and grandchildren Brian Jones of Lake Worth FL, Sam Jones of San Diego, CA, and Nona Jones of Washington D.C. A Private service will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
