Obituary for Carl Driver
Dad went home to the Lord after suffering with Alzheimer's for nearly 10 years. He was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada and grew up on a farm outside of Osage Saskatchewan. He was the second oldest of five children. His family initially immigrated to Illinois, but settled in Benicia in the beginning of World War II. It was here that he met and married our mother. He and our mother, Marge E. Branstetter (Driver) Litten were married for 30 years and lived in Fairfield. They have three children, Shirley (Dick) Swan, Terry (Brenda) Driver, and Roger (Jacqueline) Driver with nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dad was in the Navy from 1945 to 1948, then worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 36 years. After retiring he moved to the Medford, Oregon area. Military honors will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon on Oct. 17, at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at First Baptist Church, 1127 Davis St., Vacaville, starting at 2:30 p.m
