Obituary for Cameron Scott Silva
A parent's worst nightmare has begun. Your son is late coming home, your calls go unanswered. Then in the early morning hours you get that dreaded phone call that something awful has happened. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time and in the blink of an eye his life is over. You keep hoping and praying that it's all just a bad dream but these prayers will go unanswered.
At the young age of 20, Cameron Scott Silva, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and a good friend to many has been taken from us by a senseless, violent and tragic act. In the blink of an eye his life is over. He will not have the chance to marry and have children of his own. To raise a family, have a normal and happy life and grow old with his loved ones. But he is now safe from harm and in a better place. He left this world on Nov. 16, 2010, 3 years to the day that his beloved grandmother Minnie Schooler had passed on.
Cameron lived at home with his mother, Sally Silva, father, Rick Silva and 2 brothers, Will and Austin. He graduated from Vacaville High School in 2008. He had previously worked at Nike in the factory stores and had just started a new job at Best Buy. He liked his new job and was enjoying life with his girlfriend Sarah Berkheimer. They were planning a life together, but all those hopes and dreams have been cut short.
Cameron encompassed all our hearts, deep and fully. He knew how to love and was a warm and giving person. Cameron was the sunshine of all our lives, loved by everyone; family and friends. He was brilliant, naturally athletic, mechanical, an artist and an all around special person. Nothing can take his place; he will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
He is survived by his mother and father, Sally and Rick Silva; brothers, Will and Austin; and paternal grandmother, Ellen DeLege; many aunts and uncles, Mary Jane Schooler (Nana), Nancy Martinez, Al and Connie Martinez, Jeff Schooler, Joe Schooler, Rob and Alicia Silva, Ron Silva, Rachelle and Steven Bourne, Marilyn and George Perrone; cousins, Joshua Schooler, Michele and Ivan Werblow, Michael Martinez, Jamie Lynn Schooler, Sydney Bourne, Cody Silva, Preston Silva, Mason Silva, Phillip Perrone and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Minnie Schooler; an uncle, Larry Martinez; and paternal grandfather, Richard (Dick) Silva.
Let us all "celebrate" Cameron's Life. Hopefully we can take something positive from his short life and tragic passing. Make sure you tell your children how much you care about them and that you LOVE THEM on a regular basis. Nothing is certain in this life and you never know when it might be the last chance you get to express your feelings!
