Obituary for Birdie Pool

August 13, 1938 ~ October 23, 2025

Birdie was born in San Angelo, Texas to Berthold and Frieda Gross. She grew up in Eola, with a very close support of family and friends. After attending Business College in San Angelo, she took a position at First Methodist Church as their bookkeeper and was a devoted employee for 57 years. She was the solid foundation that was always there, and saw many Pastors and employees come and go. First Methodist Church became her second family, and she cherished all her friends and acquaintances.

Birdie enjoyed travelling and made many trips to Europe, and lots of road trips seeing the USA. One of the favorite “HATS” she wore at First Methodist was organizing Group Trips to Branson, and various historical sites. She also went to California regularly to visit her sister, Betty and her family. Eventually, after retirement and the passing of her parents, she moved to California to live with Betty and Lloyd. She was endeared by her niece, Natalie, nephew, Todd, their spouses, Scott and Kim and their children Sydney, Nicholas, Mia, Lauren, and Rome, and the many friends she made there.

Birdie was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Noack, her second husband Leslie Pool, and recently, her brother-in-law, Lloyd. May she rest in peace with all the loved ones, family and friends, that passed before her. Birdie will always be remembered for her calm disposition and kind smile.

A Memorial will be held at First Methodist Church on January 23, at 11:00 AM followed by a reception and celebrating Birdie’s life.
