Obituary for Beverly Devereaux Losado
Beverly Eva Devereaux Losado, nee Withrow, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 19, 2017. She was well-loved and respected for her kindness, strength, and generosity. Born in Arroyo Grande on August 18, 1935, she graduated from Sacramento State University and married her teenage sweetheart James Devereaux. They had three children, who all graduated from Vacaville High School. Bev was a cherished school teacher and retired from the Vacaville Unified School District in 1995. After Jim passed away, Bev filled her days knitting, crocheting, and caring for her beautiful garden and treasured animals. She especially enjoyed fishing, where she met her second husband, Manuel Losado. Manny and Bev shared many fishing trips together. A long-time resident of Vacaville, Bev loved spending time with her family and traveled across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to share many wonderful experiences with her children and grandchildren. A true role model, she is survived by her two sisters, Wilma Miller and Marion Parkison; her children, Michele Gaudreault (Pierre), Janele Devereaux, and William Devereaux (Jessica); her eight grandchildren, Chantelle, Catherine, Marie, Liana, Brigitte, Evan, Blaise, and Anna; and her three great-grandchildren, Logan, Catherine, and Serenity. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands and her brother Charles. Visitation for Beverly will be at Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville from 9 – 11 am, with her memorial service immediately following at 11 am. Friends and family are welcome to gather and celebrate her life following the service.
