Obituary for Betty G. Lehman
Betty left us on March 12, 2013. She was born in a small house in Alemeda, CA on September 11, 1923, but spent her childhood in San Francisco. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Lehman, in 1939 when she was 17 years old. The only thing that would separate them was World War II. Before Jim enlisted, their daughter Yvonne was born. Soon after Jim returned from the war their son James was born, and then George a few years later. Betty and Jim operated the Triangle Snack Bar in Downtown Vacaville during the late 1950's. Jim worked for the Vacaville Police Department. After a brief move to South Lake Tahoe, they returned to Vacaville where Jim was Police Chief for 14 years. Betty worked as a Dental Assistant for James Pace and also worked as a real estate agent. Betty was an avid quilter until 1995 when a stroke made quilting too difficult. But through it all she found happiness. Her family, including four grandsons and many great grandchildren, brought her constant joy. She was also loved the San Francisco Giants and watched every game. During her later years she lived with her daughter Yvonne who loved her and cared for her. On March 11, Betty sat in the sun enjoying a beautiful day, had a delicious dinner, went to bed, and was gone before the sun rose.
