Obituary for Betty Cassle
Betty Jean Cassle died September 2, 2012, at the age of 82 from complications from several illnesses which she fought with courage and dignity. She has now found peace. Betty was born on August 4, 1930, to Patsy and William Coggins in Blanchard. OK. Her family moved to Corona, Ca. when she was 10. In 1947 she met and married her husband, Joe. They moved to Riverside Ca., and soon started their family of three children, daughter, Linda Hallstrom (Phil), son, Ronnie Cassle (Mary) and son, Ricky. They resided there until 1964, when they moved to South Lake Tahoe, and started Cassle Construction. To help support the business Betty started working at Harrah's Club. Betty was known as “Betty Bingo.” She worked with her sister-in-law, Catherine Vesia, at Harrah's Club, and they had the time of their lives even though they had to wear those spike heels. They were quite a team serving many celebrities such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr., and their families. Retiring in their early 50's, they traveled all over Mexico in their motor home, and spent happy winters in their Lake Havasu home next to her sister, Maxine and brother-in-law, Dalton Allen. Betty loved to dance, and did so until her last few days. She was an avid bowler, and loved her walks in the Tahoe Keys. In 2003, Betty and Joe moved to Vacaville to be near their daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The joys of Betty's life were her children, grandchildren, Carrie Davis (Tommie), Christopher Hallstrom (Kimberly), Darrel Cassle, Crista Cassle, Amber Cassle, Michael Cassle and John Cassle, great grandchildren, Tyler and Sydney Davis and Maxton Hallstrom. Also, her sister, Maxine Allen, whom she spoke with nearly everyday. Betty is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe and Betty spent her last few months at Paramount House Senior Living where she touched many lives. Joe and the family would like to thank special care givers Joan, Nina, Joy, Jessica, Sophia and Lea. Services will be Sept. 10, 2012, 12 noon, at McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, Solano Relay for Life, or any charity of your choice. Mom, we love you and will miss your spirit, spunk and smile. Keep on dancing.
