Betty Broadwater

Betty Sue Broadwater, 91, passed away peacefully on April 24 in Bakersfield, California. Betty was born on May 6, 1932, in Shawnee, OK to John Franklin and Ethel Ramsey.
Betty (Ramsey) met Lee Broadwater while attending the Blackburn Chapel in Shawnee, OK. Betty and Lee married and moved their family to Fairfield, CA, then moved to Vacaville. Betty worked at the Vacaville Nut Tree, where she retired after many years. Betty then worked for Jelly Belly.
Betty and Lee visited several states while touring on their Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.
Betty was an excellent cook. She made the best Chess Pie from her mother’s recipe, which she handed down to family members.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (gramgram), great gramgram, and friend whose memory shall always be treasured in our hearts.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Dave) Harvey and Julia Broadwater; seven grandchildren, Megan (Kyle) Goehring, David (Kristine) Harvey, Heather (Corey) Stacy, Jeremy Rude, Trevor Sellars, Daniel (Sabrina) Sellars and Ryan Rude; great granddaughters Abigal Harvey and Brielle Stacy, additional great granddaughters, nine great grandsons.
A committal service will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA on Friday, May 10th at 1:15pm.
