Obituary for Arthur Joe
The late Arthur Joe Jr. was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Hale County (Newbern, Ala.), to the parentage of the late Mrs. Queen Ester Joe and Mr. Arthur Joe. Arthur passed on Jan. 31, 2014. Brother Joe was a devout Christian, U.S. Air Force retiree, dedicated mason of the S.Y. Beverley Lodge No. 108 F&AM PHA, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and active father and grandfather. Arthur is survived by his son, Reginald Joe, daughter-in-law Regina Joe; granddaughter, Morgan Zimmerman; grandson, Donevan Arthur Joe; two daughters, Latricia Hauer and Sundria Sam; and his grandchildren, Donte Baldwin, Sheria Brooks, Aliyah Hauer-Pickett, Dominique Hauer-Pickett; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Willie Joe (Delois), Lewis Joe (Martha), Cornelius Joe (wife Leola); his sisters, Mrs. Mary Cavender (husband Leonard), Ms. Ethel Lewis (husband Bill) and Mrs. Brenda Garrett (husband Pastor Alvin). Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday with Funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Both will take place at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Arthur’s memory to the Martinez VA CREC (Tahoe Unit). To send condolences, use P.O. Box 2281, Vacaville, CA 95696.
