Obituary for Anthony "Sonny" Michael Zappetta
Anthony Zappetta passed away on Monday after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His generous, kindhearted personality touched the lives of many. He lived life to the fullest and was a little on the crazy side, but those who knew him loved him because of it. Anthony was born in Independence, Mo. He and his family moved to southern CA when he was a child. At age 18 Anthony was in a serious car accident that forever changed his life. With time, and by the miracle of God he recovered and became the man that we all came to know and love. It was shortly after this accident that his family relocated to Vacaville, CA. He had wanted to join the military but because of his accident he was unable to enlist. He then decided to attend Solano Community College, with a focus on photography. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, playing pool, fishing, and most of all riding his Harley Davidson. He was a very proud and long time member of the motorcycle association ABATE. He also considered himself to be a religious man and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Anthony is survived by his daughter Erica LeAnn, her mother Christine, his son-in-law Albert, and his granddaughter Kylie. He is also survived by his brothers Giovanni, Vincent, James, Tom, David, and their families. His fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, from 5 to 8PM at Mc Cune Garden Chapel, in Downtown Vacaville. They are also invited to a funeral service on Thursday Sept. 24th, 10AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1791 Marshall Rd. Vacaville. Burial to follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Also please join us afterwards for what we believe Anthony would want to call an "after party" at a location his family will later provide.
