Obituary for Anthony Ray Bravo
Anthony Ray Bravo, (Wakinyan Iyanka), "Running Thunder", left this earth to walk with his ancestors Thursday, July 5, after a short illness. He touched many lives with his strong spirit and humble nature. Anthony Bravo whose father was in the military was born in Japan and then resided in Vacaville for the rest of his days. He went on to pursue a long career as a truck driver working for many different trucking companies having retired after 25 years. Anthony became involved with the Native community where he was considered a spiritual leader and advisor. He traveled for many years to the reservations in South Dakota where he was better known as "Buddha" and practiced the Native way of life. He helped many people and touched many lives. Anthony was an impressive fisherman where he caught many "Big one's". He loved to ride his Harley which gave him a feeling of being free. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, music and cherished his family to the fullest. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Refugio and Dolores Bravo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Tammy Bravo; children, Anthony Bravo II of Vacaville, Theresa (Rod) Steward of Mountain House, Rebecca Bravo of Oregon, Samantha (Ramon) Landin of Fairfield and 14 grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., and a funeral service Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m., at McCune Garden Chapel Burial service to follow.
