Obituary for Alvin "Ricky" Lawson
Vacaville resident Alvin “Ricky” Lawson passed away on April 14, 2020 at the age of 69. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Daniel and Alma Lawson and graduated from Vacaville High School in 1968. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Cheryl Rae Lawson. Alvin is survived by his daughter, Jean (Mike) Maffit Williams; his sister, Elizabeth (Mike) Martin; his brothers, Pat Lawson, Joe (Marilee) Lawson, Barry (DiAnn) Lawson and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alvin is also survived by his very special and close friend, Tina Hinkle.
Alvin was known affectionately by his nickname, Little Ricky, to many friends and family members. He was very proud of his service as a SeaBee in the US Navy. After returning to Vacaville from Shawnee, Oklahoma, he enjoyed delivering floral arrangements for Pearson’s Florist in Vacaville and baking decadent treats that he shared with all. In his leisure time, he would often drive to the coast to meet up with Elizabeth and Mike in Bodega Bay for his favorite clam chowder at Spud Point. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
