Obituary for Alicia M. Negrete
Alicia Negrete passed away in her home, in Dixon, CA, on July 20, 2021, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was 95 years young. She lived a very long, love filled life. Alicia Negrete was born on May 2, 1926, to Josefina Martinez-Luna and Pedro Martinez, in Mexico City, Mexico. She was the youngest of six children. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband, Antonio Negrete (2013), her daughter Antonieta Negrete (2017), and her grandson Lance MacFarlane (2018). She is survived by her other 4 children, Alicia MacFarlane, Irma Negrete, Luis Negrete, and Beatriz Johnson, her other twelve grandchildren, and her nine great grandchildren. Alicia grew up in Mexico City, Mexico. She met the love of her life, Antonio, at the young age of 18. They were married in 1948 at the age of 22. They lived in Mexico City and had five children, four daughters and one son. In 1961, her husband and her son traveled to the United States to provide a better life for her and their children. It would take four years for Alicia and her daughters to follow to America. They made a home and raised their family in Union City, California. When their youngest daughter was 17 years old, they moved the family to Dixon, California where she had lived for the last 42 years. Alicia was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the heart of her family. She loved gardening, cooking, shopping. She enjoyed watching her Telenovelas, Sabado Gigante, and got stuck watching for years, everything her husband watched from old black and white westerns, Little House on the Prairie, every game show on tv, Sanford and Son, and many more. She went to Church every Sunday and was a devout Catholic. We were all raised on her Belief and Faith.
She will be greatly missed in so many ways. Her love, her comfort, her sense of humor are just a few things that we all felt every day of our lives. Forever in our hearts, until we meet again. We love you and miss you so much!
