Surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 2, God opened up the gates to Heaven and Alice M. Decker passed through peacefully at the age of 89.
Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Beverly Ann Ferreira (Barbara Gonzales) of Oakland and Shirley Ferreira Hernandez (wife Patty Stewart) of Vacaville, her two grandsons, Daniel Edward Hernandez of Vacaville and Ricky Alan Hernandez (wife LeeAnn Hernandez) of Vacaville, her loving great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Renee Hernandez, and numerous nieces and nephews. All of her 8 brothers and sisters preceded her in death, Joseph, Manuel, Ernie, Mary, Louie, George, Johnny and Deloris.
Born in Santa Clara on Dec. 25, 1919 to Manuel and Eulalia Vierra of Portugal. Alice M. Decker was extremely proud of her Portuguese heritage. She loved Elvis, country music, the American Flag, collecting clowns, playing Bingo and adored her little dog Tami who preceded her in death. She worked and retired from American Home Foods after 27 years. She was a loyal participating member of the Women of the Moose #1498 Vacaville.
Join us as we celebrate the life of our beloved Mother and Grandmother. Visitation will be held at McCune Garden Chapel from 5-8 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. She will be laid to rest at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
