Albert "Al" Milligan, aged 91, of Vacaville, California, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on July 26, 1933, in Pineville, South Carolina, to Joseph Milligan and Louise Brown, Albert’s life was marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering love for those around him.
At 20 years old, Albert proudly enlisted in the Marine Corps, dedicating 11 years of honorable and distinguished service to his country before receiving an honorable discharge. In 1958, his journey brought him to San Francisco, California, where he would soon meet the love of his life, Genevieve. The two crossed paths in 1959, embarking on a remarkable journey together that has spanned 65 years, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring bond.
Albert built a remarkable career as a bus operator with AC Transit, dedicating 35 years to his work and earning the respect of all who crossed his path. Outside of his career, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures: entertaining friends, tackling building projects, playing bid whist, and passionately following his favorite sports teams.
Albert’s legacy of love and devotion lives on through his wife, Genevieve; daughter, Clarice; son, Albert Jr.; grandchildren, Kendra, Deontae, and Michael; and great-granddaughter, Aaliyah. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who hold his memory dear.
