Obituary for Adrienne Elizabeth Griffith
Adrienne Elizabeth Griffith passed away May 2, peacefully in her home in Vacaville. She is survived by her Mother Peggy Jane (VanTussenbroek) Murphy, her father Merritt DeWitt Griffith, her sister Stephanie Jane Griffith-Smith, her son David Michael Sax 13 and her daughter Sarah Jane Sax 11. Adrienne was born July 3, 1958 at Camp Irwin Army Base in Barstow, Calif. She grew up in Santa Rosa and then Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1976 where she was a member of the swim team. She was also a life guard, scuba diver, member of the water ski club and marathon enthusiast. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and earned degrees in Biology and Dental Hygiene science from Sacramento City College. Adrienne was an accomplished pianist, and loved to play the guitar as well. She had a successful career as a Dental Hygienist for over 30 years. Her friends say she was like a Rainbow: Beautiful, Colorful and Bright. She was a great Buddy to her friends and family. Smiling, laughing and making funny faces would describe Adie to anyone who knew her. Pure joy with a can do attitude. She was a loving mother of her two beautiful children, a devoted daughter, and a loving member of the Christian community. She had many interests and friends, yet described her most glorious achievement as her children, David and Sarah. Adrienne, you will be truly missed by all who knew you. You are with God now, let him carry you. All are welcome to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, May 10, 2 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, Vacaville. Pastor Bob Brigham will officiate.
