Obituary for Adeline Neves
Adeline Neves passed away at home in Paradise, CA at the age of 103. She was predeceased by her parents, Jessica Silveira Perry and Joseph Pereira Machado; husband, Joseph H. Neves; son, Eugene Neves, and great grandson, Jeremy Joseph Neves; sisters, Mary Pacheco (Arthur), Alice Valadao (Louis); brothers, Walter Perry, Ernest Perry (Goldie) and Edward Perry (Dorothy). Adeline was born in Oakland and attended school there. She met Joseph Henriques Neves and they married at the age of 18. They had two children, Eugene and Ernest. They remained very close with their extended family and celebrated every occasion together Adeline was very active in various Portuguese social organizations, becoming very well known for her cooking and baking skills. She was a high spirited woman, adored her family, and loved to host dinners in her home for her family and friends. Her family reunions were unsurpassed, and when leaving one reunion, the family was already asking when the next one would be. Adeline is survived by her son, Ernie (Ellen); grandchildren, Tami E. Neves, Michael J. Neves, Cheryl N. MacLachlan; great grandchildren, Jena Neves Trzaskalski (Eddie), Joey Johnson, Sara MacLachlan, and great-great grandchildren, Jadyn Neves, Cheyia Trujillo. She is survived as well by nieces, Betty Shaffer, Diana Valadao, Jackie Daggett, Rosemary Blethen (Stan); nephews, Louis Valadao, Eddie Perry; cousin, Ron Silva (Karen) and all of their families. A Catholic service will be held at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. There will be no graveside service. Adeline's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , if you would like to make a donation in her memory, or please feel free to donate to your own favorite.
