Obituary for Ada Leona Phillips
Ada Leona Phillips, born Dec. 26, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, died Feb. 12, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. After a whirlwind 2 week courtship and some incredible dancing, Ada met and married the love of her life, Ernest Phillips, in 1946. She soon traveled alone by boat to Japan to start her life as a USAF military spouse. The Phillips’ moved constantly thereafter with their growing family, settling in Vacaville since 1968. She’s now reunited with Ernest and dancing once again. Ada is survived by her and Ernest’s 5 children, Sandra Hiller of Vacaville, Maureen Watson of Rio Vista, Nadine Gayle Phillips of Vacaville, Ernest Edward Phillips of Oceanside and Lisa Kaye Phillips of Suisun City. She has 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Ada is made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation: www.nationalbreastcancer.org . Visitation will be held Thursday, Thursday, February 19th, 12:00-1:00pm followed by funeral service at 1:00pm at McCune Garden Chapel and interment in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
