Obituaries

Josephine (Jo) L. Hale was born in Noble, Oklahoma October 11, 1928 and passed away peacefully at Courtside Cottages of Vacaville on January 27, 2010, with family at her bedside.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Charles (Charlie) Hale and her son Michael J. Hale.  She is survived by a daughter, Sharyn Stever of Dixon, CA; daughter-in-law Mary Hale of Napa, CA; niece & nephew Rosanne Herren & Rodney McLaughlin of Lodi, CA; nephew Thomas Adams of Martinez, CA; grandchildren, Kellie Petty of Berthoud, CO; Steven Rodriguez of Santa Rosa, CA; John Stever of Fairfield, CA; Jason Hale of Carnation, WA; Julie Paoli of Napa, CA and twelve great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. For a short time in the late 1950’s, Jo worked as a telephone operator for Pacbell in Fairfield. Jo enjoyed homemaking, painting, quilting, reading, cooking, gardening, collecting antiques as well as family gatherings.    She loved making gifts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be sent in Josephine Hale’s name to Courtside Cottages Memory Support, 431 Nut Tree Rd., Vacaville, CA 95687 specifying Willson House. Interment will be private. A celebration of Josephine’s life will be held on Saturday March 27th at the home of Jim & Darla Stever 2909 Willow Ct., Fairfield, CA 94533.  Inquiries can be made by contacting johalememorial@yahoo.com.
